Albert B. “Mickey” Surrett, age 70 of Lexington, died Friday, April 3 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Funeral service for Mr. Surrett will be 2:00 pm Monday, April 6 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Clayton Stoneman and Rev. Charles Lackey officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Surrett was born August 21, 1938 in Westminster, South Carolina to William and Essie Love Surrett. He was a self-employed truck driver. Mr. Surrett is survived by his wife Nancy Cothran Surrett of the home, one son, Steven Surrett and wife Amy of Lexington, one daughter, Sandra Surrett Blackmon and husband Chris of Lexington, four brothers, J. B. Surrett and Lewis Surrett, both of Iowa, Gene Surrett and Elmer Surrett, both of South Carolina, two sisters, Ruby Adams of Thomasville and Polly McCuen of South Carolina and three grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Valley Mine Rd., Lexington.
