David Lanier

Mr. David Franklin (Bush) Lanier, age 71 of Pine Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center in Thomasville and formerly of Farmer Road, Denton, NC died Saturday, June 8. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, June 11 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Dr. Kelly Sprinkle. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens. The family will see friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home and other times at the residence on the sisters on Howell Drive in Denton. Mr. Lanier was born June 5, 1942 in Davidson County to Gurney Lanier and Sarah Valena Varner Lanier. He was of Baptist faith and had worked as a maintenance supervisor with Drexel Heritage Furniture Company. He was married to Dianne Hutchens Lanier who died in 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Linda Lanier. He is survived by sisters, Kathy Lanier and Brenda Sprinkle of Denton; step-son, Michael Hutchens of Thomasville; nephew Dr. Kelly Sprinkle of Syracuse, NY, niece Kristi Hall of Thomasville and nephew Casey White of Denton, NC Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Project Santa Fund.
