James B. (Jimmy) Lanier, age 51 of New Hope Rd., Denton died Thursday, November 1 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Gravel Hill Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Danny Hosler and Rev. Clyde Akers officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Lanier was born June 11, 1956 in Davidson County to Homer James and Bessie Shaw Lanier. He was a farmer and a truck driver for Furr Transport. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carolyn Lanier. Mr. Lanier is survived by three sons, Jamie Lanier of Denton, Barry Lanier of Winston-Salem and Drew Lanier of the home, one daughter, Shana Lanier of the home. He is also survived by one brother, William Lanier and wife Wendy of Denton, five sisters, Anna Routh and husband Gene, Sandra Hudspeth, Frankie Snider and husband Harold and Martha (Kay) Lanier, all of Denton and Barbara Kiser and husband Mitchell of Seagrove, one grandchild, Jordan Lanier.
