Mrs. Elwina Lanier Shaw, age 77 of Farmer Rd., Denton died Friday, October 19, 2012 at High Point Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 24 at Bethel Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Gerald Ward. Interment will follow at Lineberry United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Shaw was born November 15, 1934 in Davidson County to James Frank Lanier and Elma Russell Lanier. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, David M. Lanier, Sr. Survivors include her husband; Rex Johnson Shaw of the home, son; Scott Shaw and wife Karen Grubb Shaw of Denton, daughters; Dawn Frank and husband Johnny of Denton and Chaplin Anna Allred and husband Jesse of Asheboro, sisters; Ann See, Margurite Nance, Betty Jo Yates and husband Paul, Lola Mae Scarboro all of Denton, Grandchildren; Colley John Frank and wife Kim, Amber Laine Frank Goodman and husband Greg, SSgt. Christopher Johnson Frank, Jeromy Scott Allred and wife Jenny, Caleb Scott Shaw, and Nathan Thomas Shaw, great grandchildren; Riley Anna Allred and Jaxson Allen Allred. The family will see friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence of Farmer Rd.
