Ms. Betty Ruth Simmons age 84, of S. Whiskey Rd. Candor died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at her residence.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Monday, Feb. 11 at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Neil Parsons.

Ms. Simmons was born September 19, 1928 in Forsyth County to James William Simmons and Bertie Mae Bowman Simmons. She had worked as a seamstress.

Survivors include, brothers; Carlo Simmons of Candor, Franklin Foy Simmons of Rockingham, and Paul M. Simmons of Candor, sister; Nancy McCormick of Ellerbe.

There will be no public visitation.

Arrangements are by Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor.
